Your data, explained

Public is a choice.

My Screen Time Is Public collects daily foreground app durations from your Android phone after you enable tracking. Your account contains your email, display name, handle, timezone, and device identifier. Daily reports contain app names, packages, categories, and durations. We do not collect messages, screen contents, browsing history, or individual tap events.

What other people can see

Your profile begins unpublished. When you publish, anyone with the link can view the delayed totals, categories, and selected app names you enable. Total and category figures include activity from apps whose names you keep private. We ask search engines not to index profile pages. This does not prevent screenshots or copying.

Timing and accuracy

The default public date is yesterday in your account’s timezone. You can delay publication by 1 to 30 calendar days. New accounts share from their signup date onward by default, so the first day becomes eligible after that delay. You can choose a different start date or a rolling window of one to twelve months in the app. Existing accounts keep their saved choices. Older available reports may still be collected and stored privately for the planned analytics described below. Shortening the public window hides older reports without deleting them. Changing sharing settings or delay affects the entire public view. Offline phones or Android background restrictions can delay uploads. The page distinguishes missing reports from zero reported use. Android retains detailed events for only a few days, so a new installation cannot recover months of past activity. Longer history grows from reports already saved on our server.

Planned trends and comparisons

We plan to use your screen-time history to show your usage trends and compare your usage with aggregated statistics from people with similar usage patterns, such as time spent in app categories. These comparison features are not available yet. The planned comparisons will show group statistics, not publish your private individual reports or identify other people in your comparison group.

Public-profile sharing and private analytics are different uses of your data. Your public sharing settings control what appears on your profile; they do not delete privately stored history or change its planned use for these analytics. We will explain the comparison feature and its available controls before it launches.

Google sign-in and embeds

If you choose Google sign-in, we verify your Google account identity and store its account identifier and email to sign you in and link an existing account where ownership can be verified. We do not request access to your Google Drive, contacts or email messages. Google-only accounts can request deletion in the app by confirming their linked Google account.

Portfolio widgets and GitHub cards show only the information published on your public profile, with the same delay and visibility choices. Other websites and image proxies may cache copies after fetching them. Pausing publication stops new public requests; remove embeds from other sites when you no longer want them displayed.

Controls and deletion

Pause publication to make your link unavailable. Pause tracking to stop new uploads. Deleting your account from the app or this website removes your account, sessions, and reports from the service. Previously copied public data cannot be recalled. Report data is not a verified productivity score and covers one Android phone. Uploaded reports remain in this development service until you delete your account.

Current release

This is the first development release. The server operator must supply its identity, support contact, retention and backup policy before a public launch.
